Hi. This is my first time using Electrum. I withdrew money from Bovada, online gambling site, to my Electrum wallet. I checked Bovada and it states the the withdraw has been processed to my Electrum bitcoin address I used. an unconfirmed transaction just appeared, but the amount isn't the same as what I had sent to the wallet. I had $825 sent, but it's only showing +116.79459. Is this only $116.79459. Where is the rest of the $825. Sorry, I'm new at this and don't want to lose $700. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cant send from Localbitcoins to Electrum. ELI5 Bitcoin address inter-operability?
When I tried to send from Localbitcoins to Electrum it failed even though I thought Local had upgraded 2 years ago. I sent it elsewhere so didn't need to solve that issue. Why is it still not working? https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Address explaining the address formats:
There are currently three address formats in use: P2PKH which begin with the number 1, eg: 1BvBMSEYstWetqTFn5Au4m4GFg7xJaNVN2 P2SH type starting with the number 3, eg: 3J98t1WpEZ73CNmQviecrnyiWrnqRhWNLy Bech32 type starting with bc1, eg: bc1qar0srrr7xfkvy5l643lydnw9re59gtzzwf5mdq
What kind of sending/receiving from which types of addresses will not work?
Was trying to send btc to my electrum wallet. On my electrum wallet, I generated the receiving address by clicking Bitcoin Request button, copied to clipboard and pasted on LocalBitcoins' "Receiving bitcoin address" field. But I kept getting an error message "Invalid Bitcoin Address". What am I doing wrong? Please be nice, I'm a total noob. Thank you.

When buying bitcoins with USD (example an ATM) do you use the address that’s made on electrum Or do you make a separate address then transfer it to to electrum on TAILS
Title says it all. I’m a bit confused with all this dark net buying stuff because I would like to buy coins. Should I make a separate address when buying the coins then transfer it to an address made on Tails, or should I use the address from Tails directly. Also I don’t understand the concept of adding funds from my wallet to a market account. Thanks if someone can explain this easier.
Help! I’m trying to send bitcoin from KUCoin exchange and every address my electrum is generating is invalid. I’ve made a legacy and Segwit both don’t work. And also I’m currently not connected and I’ve tried multiple servers. Can anyone help or point me in right direction?

Hi - I sent bitcoin from GDAX to my electrum “receive” address, (not the master public key address), and I don’t see the test bitcoin transaction I made earlier. Are the two different? ''' Okay so I GOT THEM BACK! I attempted to double spend but since I thought I was hacked I deleted and reinstalled electrum. When I did this I had a new receiving address (input) so when I tried to double spend the inputs were different and it failed. RBF on electrum doesn’t cancel the transaction, instead giving you the option to increase the fee after the fact so that didn’t work either. With the help of ipoooooo, we were able delete the transaction from my wallet’s txt file and recover the BTC. FUCK ALL THE SCAMMERS! On top of all the help ipoooooo gave me, he refused compensation. Definitely a stand up guy! Here is a link to the hack tutorial if anyone wants to check it out - it totally saved my ass today. Sweeping bitcoin gold from segwitt address starting with 3 from electrum
When I try to do it I get a message "The private key does not contain any funds". However when I check the address on https://bitcoingold.org/ I get info that it has 0 BTC and x BTG (higher than 1, so fees should not be a problem). I have found this quote on some forum:
"I apologize, I now see that you are trying to sweep an address that starts with "3", usually associated with segwit or multisig. Unfortunately we don't support sweeping those addresses at the moment."
Is support for that planned? Any rough estimation if that's possible?
In Electrum, there is no "New Address" button to be found. I tried under the tab Addresses, but nothing there. If I go to Console and try create(), then it returns: Traceback (most recent call last): NameError: name 'create' is not defined (despite create being listed under help) If I click new under Receive then it says No more addresses in your wallet. At this point I'm not sure what else I ... Electrum Electrum's focus is speed and simplicity, with low resource usage. It uses remote servers that handle the most complicated parts of the Bitcoin system, and it allows you to recover your wallet from a secret phrase. To receive bitcoin all you need to do is share one of the addresses in your wallet with the person who wants to pay you. With the receive tab Electrum tries to create a workflow for receiving bitcoin that incorporates adding a label to your address, an expected amount and saving all this in the wallet as a receive request. I've been a big fan of Electrum as a wallet for a while now. Traditionally, when I wanted to do bitcoin scripting I would use either trezorlib, pycoin, or bitcoinlib. But recently I was digging a bit deeper into the Electrum source and found it to be one of the simpler python libraries to use to craft bitcoin transactions. The “Pay to” field holds a Bitcoin address of your intended payee, which can be manually entered or pasted from the clipboard. Adding a description will help you identify the payment later. The total amount of the transaction is the sum of the sent amount and transaction fee. Electrum issues a warning in the form of a red amount if the total transaction amount exceeds the wallet balance ...
